I had a fantastic time with my friend James Chubb (The EDDC Education Ranger) today on the Exe Estuary exploring the Exmouth local Nature Reserve. Stuart Line Cruises took us out across the estuary to look at the birds that flock here during the Winter months. This is a spectacular experience, seeing all of the different types of birds that visit our shores. The Exe Estuary is the start of the Jurassic Coasts, it has blue flag beaches and is a great all year round destination. It's an internationally important nature site and the jewel in the crown of the South West's great wildlife habitats. About 25,000 birds winter here every year on the Exe! |
